Best Ways to Lose Fat

Many people are looking for the best way to lose fat. Simply put, there are many ways to lose fat. Each of our bodies reacts differently to training programs. However, some activities that used several muscle groups and that are weight-bearing use more calories and are better suited for fat loss. Some of these activities include running, brisk walking, and cross-country skiing.

A misconception is that low intensity exercise works best if you're trying to burn fat. If you are exercising at a low intensity, fat does not make up the highest percentage of calories used. You can greatly increase the number of calories burned per minute by completing a moderate to high intensity workout.

Another misconception is that you can spot reduce which means to lose fat and slim down in a certain area of the body by targeting that area with an exercise program. Spot reducing simply doesn't work because you cannot choose where your body will use its energy, where your body will store fat, and your body cannot change fat and muscle. A prime example is flabby arms. Many people develop flabby arms, as they get older because their skin becomes less elastic and begins to hang from their arms.

Which is better for burning fat, cardiovascular training, or strength training? Actually, both of these exercises can reduce your body fat percentage. However, strength training does not have as great an impact on fat loss as much as aerobic exercise does. If you combine endurance and strength training, you will see greater results, than if you use one or the other by itself. This is because people who do both cardiovascular and strength training in the spending more time exercising therefore they get a better workout and burn more fat.

How can I get a flat stomach? The truth is you may not be able to get as flat of the stomach as someone else regardless of how much exercising you do simply because of your genetic makeup. Your abdominal muscles are much like any other muscle group. If you are wanting those muscles to be larger, you must decrease the layer of fat that covers them. The best way to do this is by combining strength training and cardiovascular exercise with a proper balanced diet.

People who have a flat stomach also have a very low percentage of body fat however; most people do not do enough cardiovascular exercise to decrease abdominal fat. Crutches can help improve the dollar strength and work best if performed on movable surface such as a resistance ball.
