When you have made the decision to move, there is so much involved and it can be a stressful time for everyone involved. Something that many people may not think about is the gasoline left in the car tank. The car transport service may advise you about the gas tank, but if they do not, take care of it yourself. It is a good idea to try and leave very little gas in the gas tank of the car. This will remove extra weight and also allow for safer transport. A car such as an RV that has a propane tank attached to it should have the tanks completely emptied of the propane. Propane is combustible and it is much safer to transport an empty tank. Let the transport service know if there is propane involved in the move.

A car that has a car alarm system should have the alarm system disengaged. There is a possibility that the car alarm could be triggered by accident. There is nothing more annoying than a beeping car alarm. Once the car is in transit, the truck driver may not have access to the car in order to turn the car alarm off and keep it from accidently going off again. Be courteous and turn the alarm off until the care is safely back in your possession.
