Ever since Joomla was introduced, it has gained immense popularity and has become one of the most popular CMS web design. Joomla is an open source solution and helps in developing highly advanced and robust web applications. Consequently, the demand for Joomla development is at an all time high. Discussed in this post is the process of creating a Joomla website.

Creating a Joomla based website is simple and can be done easily if you have some technical knowledge. Since Joomla is an open source technology you can download it and install it on your system. However, before installing, there are some other few important things that need to be done. First step is to get a domain name. You can either buy a new domain name or an old one. You can also create a sub domain for your new Joomla website. Next comes the hosting account. If you do not already have an hosting account, then you first need to create one. An important thing to be kept in mind is that your domain name registrar should have the DNS settings correct for your hosting company.

After this you need to create a MySQL database. You should make note of the database name, the user name to login into the database and also the password. You also need to create a FTP account to use the Media Manager. This account should be associated with the root level of your website's directory. After completing these steps, you can move on to download Joomla. You can download the latest version of Joomla and then copy it to your hosting server. You should put it in the root level of where your site will be.

Now un-compress the Joomla file. Open the URL in your browser and this will bring up the installation script. Then the script will start. You need to set up the FTP layer if you want to be able to use the Media Manager. You also need to answer the questions included in the installation script.

Now you are ready to set up the look of your Joomla website. You can customize the color, look and feel of your Joomla website as per your own requirement and preference. You can select from a range of templates and install it on your Joomla site. After selecting a suitable template for your site, you can then add content to your site. Another great thing about Joomla is that it has plethora of extensions to offer. Extensions are programs that help in extending the functionality of the site. You can download and install any extension as per your requirement. Most of them are available for free.

There is no doubt that Joomla is a great CMS solution. However, in order to create a perfect Joomla website, one needs to have the thorough knowledge of technology. Therefore, it is in your best interest to hire professional Joomla developers. A professional Joomla developer has the requisite experience and skill to provide you with a cutting edge solution.
