Whether it’s an email, whether it’s a blog post or any other printed document, or a web page, the type of font you use tells a lot about the type of person you really are. Yes, to begin with, anyone who makes a devoted effort to change the font instead of clinging on to the default is showing his attention for detail.
Recently I sent a mind-twisting query to all my colleagues at Miracle Studios asking them what’s their favorite font is or was and why. And the responses are still pouring in to my inbox. I am just wondering how passionate are all of these “Tech-Geeks” in answering this query. Where as I am collecting the answers from all quarters, and trying to post them here…….
Times Roman is for those who are serious about their words?
Overview: Times Roman has been around since 1930, when a British tabloid commissioned. This font is adored by journalists who are damn serious about what they are writing. This font is for the people who want their words to speak for themselves.
Comment: “I use Times Roman because it’s smooth and there is a subtle elegance associated with it which elevates words to create wonderful ideas. May be that’s why I use it while writing those blog posts.” said Mr. Navi, Blogger, Miracle Studios.
People with rendition for clarity use Georgia
Overview: This font was christened in 1993 by Mat Carter from Microsoft. It was designed for professing clarity on the computer screen even at minisculine sizes.
Comment: “This font helps in phasing out confusion with it crystal clear format. May be that’s why it is vigorously used in emails, instant messaging. That’s why I use this font in creating information websites.” said Harvinder Singh, Creative Designer, Miracle Studios.
Arial can help your text stand out of the design
Overview : Undoubtedly , Arial is the most popular type of font used in the digital arena, it can help you in web sites, as it straight forwardness makes the written word clearly stand out of the designing elements.
Comment: “Use this font in your website in order to have your readers focused on the text, not the design. This font can be put into best use in informational websites.” said Navdeep Singh, Web Designer, Miracle Studios.
For providing artistic shade to your text use Tahoma…..
Overview : Tahoma is the artistic font from the library of Mat Carter for Microsoft, it was ushered in to the web in 1993.
