All about Burning Fats

There are numerous facts and myths associated with burning fat. One popular myth has to do with heart rate - saying there is a specific range that your heart rate must stay in during exercise in order to burn fat. Many machines monitor a person's cardio and have a display that shows they are fat burning zone. This encourages people to shoot for a specific heart rate range during exercise. But what happens if you exercise outside of that heart rate zone?

During exercise, your body will use carbohydrates and fat as fuel. If you work out on a low intensity level such as walking the majority of your energy used will be from fat. As you ramp up your exercise workout and intensity increases, you will meet a lactate threshold. At this point, the energy used from fat decreases and energy use from carbohydrates increases. If you exercise just the need your lactate threshold you will be using mostly carbohydrate energy expenditures but once you go above the lactate threshold your fuel source is entirely carbohydrate-based.

If you continue to exercise long enough for example 1/2 to 2 hours the carbohydrate content and blood glucose concentration in your muscles become low. If you do this, you create a threat to your muscles because your muscles prefer carbohydrate fuel and once carbohydrate fuel is not available, your muscles will rely on fat fuel.

There is more fat used with low intensity exercise and therefore most people think low intensity exercise is the best way to burn fat. That is where the fat burning zone has come from. A small amount of fat fuel is used if you exercise just beneath your lactate threshold and the rate of calories used will be much greater than if you were exercising at a lower intensity.

If you are hoping to burn fat and lose weight, you should focus most on the difference in the number of calories you used versus the number of calories you consume any given day. Weight loss and burning fat requires a person to burn a lot of calories as well as consume fewer calories. However if you are looking to lose weight it makes no difference if the calories burned during exercise are carbohydrate energy being used or fat energy being used.

Interval training is the best way to exercise and decrease your body fat because it is the most effective. You can break up the workout and rest in between.

Exercising can make you lose fats but it can be much better and you can see great results if you associate it with using carb blocker. With carb blocker, you can eat food you like but you do not have to worry since the supplement will work by reducing your calorie intake and will lose your unwanted fats.
