Fertility drugs function by promoting ovulation by rousing hormones in a woman’s brain to get an egg ready and release it from the ovaries every month. Many fertility drugs are used safely for more than 30 drugs. They do not raise the possibility of multiple births more than 5 to 15 percent. Bromocriptine can be taken orally or as a vaginal pill. Clomiphene
If the woman does not ovulate irregularly or not at all or if she has polycystic ovarian syndrome PCOS, Clomiphene can help to conceive. In the presence of PCOS, the physician may advise metformin an insulin-sensitizing drug, which helps to respond to clomiphene. This drug is also useful for men having a hormonal imbalance associated with a low sperm count, poor sperm quality or motility. Clomiphene pills are taken in a five-day cycle in a month. This helps to produce more hormones that trigger ovulation and stir up the ovaries to produce one or more mature eggs.
