When you are on a healthy diet, you are limited in what you can eat. Your main diet should consist of fruit and vegetables. You will also be allowed to eat brown rice, lentils, unsalted nuts and other whole grains such as oats and whole wheat. You should drink only water or lightly flavored water with no added sugars but you are allowed to drink limited quantities of unsweetened fruit juices.

Eating nine fruits and vegetable in your diet every day is really not as hard as you may think. Snack on fruits and veggies and you will reach the recommended servings in no time at all. Cut up veggies and keep them in sealed containers in the fridge. Wash a bunch of grapes and leave them on the table during the day times. Slice up some apples and dip them in a healthy yogurt sauce. Make it fun to eat fruits and veggies and will look forward to your snack rather than dreading the taste of plain vegetables. A healthy diet should consist of the right fruits and vegetables.

People who follow a healthy diet usually agree that along with losing weight, they get clearer, healthier looking skin and have more energy. It has also been said that mood swings improve as well as gaining better thinking skills.

Eating better improves your over all health without any other effort on your part. You get an added benefit by exercising, strength training, and aerobic type exercising.

Exercise should be a regular part of any diet program regardless of the type of food you eat while on the diet.  You will strengthen your muscles and tone your fat up while at the same time you will feel a lot stronger, happier, and just in general, feel better. Exercising helps to increase your energy levels and is a wonderful way to reduce stress levels. When you are feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders, take your frustrations out on pull up, push up, and sit ups.

Many people never make a commitment to a new exercise program because they aim too high. Try a little exercise every day rather than trying to become the next body builder. You can always add to exercise regiment, which is a better choice because you are less likely to get burned out too quickly.

When you combine exercise with good food choices it will not be long before you will be reaping the benefits. You weight will drop off at a good, steady rate, your health will improve, adding to a longer life, and your body image will change.

A healthy diet will improve your chance of weight loss and can be achieved without starving yourself.
