In the market for a new home PC? As technology continues to grow, more and more features are being add to the computers. Understanding what one really needs in a computer can help make the buying process go much smoother. Some features on a computer are more needed, more powerful and more innovative than others. This makes these features more important and when buying a computer for home or office use, you should know what these features are and whether or not they are important enough for you to be concerned over them. You can easily save a great deal of money buy choosing a computer that does not have all the bells and whistles, well unless of course you need all that power. Everyone's needs are different.

The things that you want to accomplish on your computer require different amounts of power requirements. A computer that will be used to create and run videos or online games will need more power than a computer that will only be used for making invoices. This also means the computer needs more memory and a faster running power. How much RAM does the computer have included with it? Will that be enough? If not, keep in mind that one can upgrade and add memory to desktops at a later point as well.

It is generally best to have more power than you really need, yet at the same time, buying more than you will use is a waste of money. It is a fine line you will have to cross, but an important feature you need to consider. A computer that will only be used by a child does not require as much power as an adult might need. The exception is only compared to how the child will use the computer. Online gaming and video capabilities need more memory than a computer that a child plans to watch DVD’s and charge iPods or cell phones.

All computers come with some type of warranty or guarantee. This is very important because if there is a problem with the hard drive or internal software components, you will not be able to fix them on your own and they can be quite expensive to repair. The warranty will cover basic problems and it you choose to purchase an extended warranty or add extra coverage, your computer will be covered against all types of breaks, bugs, and failures.
