A Competition with a Difference

Boarder cross is a competition for snowboarding in which a team of snowboarders start the race simultaneously from the top of an inclined course and make their way downhill. The race course is often quite narrow with a few cambered turned, bends, gap jumps, steep and flat sections as well as drops to test the skills and ability of riders to stay in control. Very often, racers collide into one another. If you want to be good at this competition, you need to have the capability to cover all sorts of terrain, practicing on free style terrain while generating speed. It’s definitely for those who dare to dare.

What Awaits You in Mt Hutt

Located in South Island, New Zealand, Mt Hutt has some of the greatest variable terrains ranging from super wide groomed, long to double black diamond chutes. At 2086 meters, it offers one of the biggest vertical drops in the country. It’s well developed trail network is suitable for snowboarders of all levels – from absolute beginners to professional riders and racers. 4 well planned lifts provide a streamlined and efficient lift service. Even if Mt Hutt snow report is not favorable, snow conditions can be enhanced by the use of the extensive snow making facilities available at the terrain parks and trails. The longest run is of 1.2 miles while the total ride area covers 365 hectares. The terrain is divided into 25% for beginners, 50% for intermediate level riders and 25% for advanced riding.

Mt Baw Baw – Good for Intermediate and Advanced Riding

Situated 120 kilometers east of Melbourne, Mt Baw Baw has a mix of uneven terrain with gentle pistes and a splattering of trees that is sure to suit riders.

Mt Baw Baw snow report can give you all details of weather conditions prevalent on the particular day. As for general statistics, there are 5 lifts available and 14 trails covering 30 hectares of land. The first lift is at 1460 meters and the top lift is at 1564 meters. The terrain is divided into 25% beginner, 64% intermediate and 11% advanced. The longest run here is of 750 meters and the terrain is quite hospitable for beginners.
