Can a star be named anything? Though anything is allowed, but some wise or relevant name is highly recommended to avoid confusion with other existing stars. 6. What is the word limit for naming a star? We use s simple format: First Name, Middle Name and Last name though we avoid accommodating larger names to fit the space. A longer name will not look as appealing as the shorter one and there is about 4.5 inches of naming space on the certificate page. 7. Is the star visible with normal telescope? It depends but usually they are far apart, so seeing with naked eyes or through telescope may not be that much possible. If you would like to watch it, you need a telescope with high magnification value which is not easily available at homes and their magnification power varies from telescope to telescope. 8. Can I at least view pictures and images? Using your star co-ordinates into Google Sky, you can see your star. 9. Is the Star Buying South Africa available for selling? There can be no check online since many people misuse internet, but what we name, we maintain official records into the registry that is further maintained by The Star Naming Authority.
