As well as any part of your body, your hair also needs a little of your attention. And by this, I am referring to keeping your hair healthy as well. Although sometimes taken for granted, but our hair has also its own function in our body. It protects our head and face, and it gives us a good appearance.

Our hair contains an estimated 100,000 hair strands. Each of these strands has three protective layers and the one that covering it all is called the cuticle. This cuticle is very important because this is where you can determine if your hair is healthy or not and it also is the one that protects the inner layer of the hair strands. Usually, a healthy hair has a shiny cuticle. It must also be flat and don’t have breakage. If it does have, harmful elements such as sun’s heat and other harmful elements can enter the layers of our hair therefore causing it to easily break of fall. If it is not attended immediately, it can cause to a more serious hair condition called alopecia.

There are basically two kinds of hair type. It can either be curly hair or straight hair. Usually, straight hair looks shinier than curly hair because it produces more sebum, a substance that acts as oil to our hair, which protects it and maintaining its shine.
