Wedding Insurance

Wedding insurance is designed to minimize the amount of money you would lose if certain problems occur. The type of coverage varies, so be sure you understand any policy before signing a contract. The most basic event insurance policies cover losses due to cancellation or postponement if , say, the officiant fails to show up or the facility goes out of business or becomes unusable because of fire or foul weather. The policy may be broadened to include coverage for personal liability and medical expenses, along with any expenses you may incur in the case of mishaps with photography, damage to rented property or attire, and other unexpected events.

Before paying for this type of insurance, review your own homeowner's or renter's insurance policy, as well as any protection outlined in your vendors' contracts to see where you are vulnerable. Most credit-card companies also provide some form of buyer's insurance to protect against fraud, theft, and damaged goods, so check with your card issuer about its policies.
