Why Do Scooters Have Small Tyres?

The real question is why can’t scooters have bigger tyres like the ones on motorcycles? Many people use scooters for small distances and domestic use, so having a scooter is simply like a walk in the park – they are lightweight, easy to ride around and inexpensive. Having small tyres makes them more efficient to allow better steering.

Scooters are given small wheels to reduce the weight being forced onto them, increasing space and easier handling. They are also best at manoeuvring in high city traffic, and with the steadiness of their small wheels, you wouldn’t think twice about your safety.

Tyres with smaller radii have an advantage over big tyres, but it all depends on the scooter's body type. You would not want your scooter to be disproportionate to your tyres, as bigger tyres answer for a different purpose.

Although scooters do seem to be a bad idea due to their small tyres, why do people tend to purchase scooter tyres online in Sri Lanka?  Scooters are meant for short distances only, so if you wish to run to a grocery store, you can skip the cab charge and your energy to book one if you had your own scooter. If you wish to go on a ten-kilometre ride to your destination with small wheels? Absolutely not. Scooter tyres are meant for small distances with a smooth road surface and light use only.

Overall, it entirely depends on the rider how he wants to use his scooter, but small tips do tend to flatten the risk curve of your safety. Nonetheless, if you are finding an alternative solution for transportation, scooters are by far the best choice.
